This area is said to be haunted because of a robbery that took place here in 1870. Manuel Sato was cooking breakfast when he was stabbed in a sneak attack at his campsite. The robber had also robbed a bank recently, and soldiers were searching for the money when they found Sato's spirit leading a strong of ghostly mules.
