There was a Bulgarian Monk that was said to live in the area from about the 1870's to 1890's, until he reportedly drowned. Some say he was well known and liked, giving lectures and traveling. Stories say that on the day he drowned, he was seen playing with some children 25 miles away. Ever since, witnesses have claimed to see his black-robed form wandering along the riverbanks carrying a lantern.
